I'm a new writer and I found my agent simply by looking on the web. We are now at the plubicity stage in the process. If you want to break into print, don't be afraid to invest some money and pursue a joint venture. In the end, if you sell your work and have the right publisher, you'll make money and have a bit of a track record to catch the eye of a larger publisher. At least that is the theory. I'll add more to the conversation as time moves on but I'm published and I'm excited at the prospects.
